Spectrum 3U OpenVPX™ Analog and Digital I/O Processing Modules
Spectrum Announces 3U OpenVPX™ Family of Products for Demanding ISR and Software Defined Radio Applications - Spectrum's new VPX modules will offer an unparalleled blend of performance and quality in a rugged form factor.
Spectrum today announced the launch of a family of analog and digital I/O processing modules based on the 3U OpenVPX™ standard (VITA 65). These new VPX modules will offer an unparalleled blend of performance and quality in a rugged form factor to meet the demanding processing needs of ISR and Software Defined Radio applications.
“Spectrum is committed to providing our customers choice in selecting I/O and processing modules across a range of form factors to meet the harsh size, weight, power and environmental requirements in
deployment," stated Douglas Fast, President of Spectrum. “The combination of 3U OpenVPX™ and PCI Express (PCIe) high-speed fabric technology allows us to meet those stringent requirements without sacrificing bandwidth between sensor, analog I/O and processing elements.”
Each 3U OpenVPX™ card has two PCIe (x4) links to the backplane with an onboard PCIe switch. This feature, along with Spectrum's quicComm™ software suite, allows users to rapidly integrate systems with Spectrum's other OpenVPX™ modules and third-party single-board computers (SBCs).
Spectrum’s family of VPX modules offers a variety of ADC/DAC, FPGA, and DSP options that provide system integrators flexibility in choosing the right mix of I/O and processing performance to meet their technical and budgetary constraints.
The members of Spectrum’s 3U VPX family include:
* VPX-1131 – Dual 14-bit 250 MSPS ADC and Virtex-5 FX130T or FX200T FPGA
* VPX-2131 – Dual 14-bit 300 MSPS DAC and Virtex-5 FX130T or FX200T FPGA
* VPX-1151 – Single 3.2 GSPS, or Dual 1.6 GSPS 12-bit ADC and Virtex-6 LX240T FPGA
* VPX-3311 – Dual 12-bit 213.33MSPS ADC, Single 14-bit 213.33 MSPS DAC, and Virtex-4 LX160 FPGA
* VPX-8311 – Dual TI C6416 1GHz DSP
