Workstation with NVIDIA Maximus Technology - Nexlink Maximum

Seneca Launches Nexlink 7900 Workstation with NVIDIA Maximus Technology - Engineers, designers and content creation professionals can now create without the wait

Seneca®, a leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative technology solutions, announced today the availability of the Nexlink® 7900 Workstation powered by NVIDIA® Maximus™ technology. The Nexlink 7900 workstation is available in a series of preconfigurations designed to meet the needs of a range of clients, from value-conscious designers to the most performance demanding users.

NVIDIA Maximus-powered Nexlink workstations combine the visualization and interactive design capabilities of NVIDIA Quadro® professional graphics processing units (GPUs) and the high-performance computing power of NVIDIA Tesla® GPUs into a single workstation. With Maximus, the Tesla companion processor automatically performs the “heavy lifting” of photorealistic rendering or engineering simulation computation. This frees up CPU resources for the work they are best suited for – I/O, running the operating system and multi-tasking – and frees up the Quadro GPU to be dedicated to powering rich, full-performance, interactive design and visualization.
Designers and engineers can now perform simultaneous CAE, rendering or structural/fluid analysis on the same system being used for design work, and digital content creation professionals can perform faster video editing, effects and animation.
NVIDIA Maximus technology improves workflows in:
3D Design

Continue to design while renders run up to 9x faster in the background
Design and render on a single machine without bogging it down

Engineering Analysis

Interact with 3D apps while running realistic simulations up to 4x faster at the desktop
Complete a required set of engineering simulations or regulatory tests days earlier
Reduce the need for costly prototypes

Media & Entertainment

Obtain up to 8x better price/performance in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and up to 27x faster ray tracing with NVIDIA Optix™
Edit more layers and effects in real-time

Smart Speaker modes can be set manually or via an L6 LINK™ digital network.

“Our new powered subwoofer is uniquely designed to meet the demanding performance needs of both live and pre-recorded music. StageSource L3s can achieve a supremely punchy kick and bass for a live rhythm section and reproduce the deep, controlled sub-bass lows of a DJ rig,” said Simon Jones, vice president of new market development at Line 6. “Combined with other Line 6 speakers or integrated into a traditional rig, StageSource L3s goes way beyond the capabilities of a standard powered subwoofer, offering advanced DSP, smart design and true scalability with L6 LINK digital networking.”

New JVC Powerful Professional Camcorder Records 4-times Full-HD

JVC Announced a More Powerful Professional Camcorder - B&H Photo Video is excited to share with video enthusiasts the release of the all new JVC GY-HMQ10 professional camcorder.

B&H Photo Video is excited to share with video enthusiasts the release of the all new JVC GY-HMQ10 professional camcorder.

The GY-HMQ10 is the world's first handheld camcorder capable of capturing and recording real-time video at 4 times the resolution of full HD—3840 x 2160 images at 24p, 50p and 60p. Now one can deliver stunning cinema-quality recordings with the same ease of operation as a standard HD video camera.

Great images begin with a great optical system. The JVC GY-HMQ10 employs a razor sharp F2.8 10x zoom lens specifically designed for 4K imaging. A high speed 1/2-inch class CMOS device with 8.3 million active pixels (3840 x 2160) captures live progressive images at up to 60 frames per second. This tremendous amount of data is then processed using an array of custom JVC Falconbrid LSI chips that deBayer the image and provide a live 4K output while simultaneously compressing video for recording onto separate solid state memory cards. 4K recordings up to 2 hours in length can be made using four 32GB SDHC cards.

Operation and form factor are very similar to JVC's popular GY-HM150 with manual or auto control of focus, iris, gain, shutter, gamma level, color matrix, and white balance.

The GY-HMQ10 also functions as an exceptional HD camcorder thanks to its larger 4K sensor and superb optics. It records full HD (1920 x 1080) at 50/60p or 50/60i onto a single memory card in the AVCHD format.

Super Self-Powered Speaker for Digital Age - NHT SuperPower

NHT SuperPower: Activate! A Super Self-Powered Speaker For The Digital Age - Elements of NHT’s SuperZero M-00 Speakers Combine To Create A Super Self-Powered Speaker For The Digital Age

NHT today announced that it will soon ship SuperPower [$199 each]: a compact, self-amplified, high end mini-speaker powerhouse designed to deliver high performance sound from any of today’s digitally connected devices, from smartphones and portable media players to tablets, video games, electronic musical instruments, home entertainment systems, and of course, desktop and laptop computers.

Instead of starting from scratch, NHT looked for design inspiration from its highly acclaimed SuperZero 2.0 -- an overachieving passive mini-speaker -- and the professional series M-00 (a/k/a, the “moo”), which is a rugged 75W powered mini-monitor commonly found in top-notch recording studios.

Similar to its predecessors, the SuperPower’s acoustics section includes NHT’s time-tested mini-monitor driver complement, featuring a 4.5-inch long-throw woofer and 1-inch silk dome tweeter. The drivers are acoustically suspended in a sealed box that is immediately recognizable for NHT’s trademark high-gloss, black laminate finish.

The rest of the SuperPower’s magic can be found under the hood: each speaker features its own ultra-low distortion 90W power amplifier that boasts over 90% efficiency and in standby mode uses less electricity than a D cell battery. The amplifier is mated with a custom designed pre-amp circuit that shapes the speakers’ response for both bass extension (to 72Hz) additional SPL (over 111dB @1 Meter!)

“SuperPower’s DNA originates from two of NHT’s most beloved speakers – the SuperZero and the NHT Professional M-00 active mini-monitor. That’s really where the story begins,” said NHT partner and marketing/sales executive John Johnsen. “As such, it really represents the best of both worlds, combining our knowledge and experience in the powered monitor arena with our passion for packing incredible high-end sound into a compact, affordable package”

ASUS G53SX is World's First Glasses-Free 3D Gaming Laptop

The World's First Naked Eye 3D Gaming Laptop - Look Ma, No Glasses - ASUS has just introduced the World's First Naked Eye or Glasses-Free 3D Gaming Laptop. Will this new technology finally bring 3D into the mainstream?

ASUS, with their Republic of Gamers (ROG) laptops, have constantly been pushing the boundaries of computer gaming. Now, at the latest Computex in Taipei, they have created some collective buzz around one of their latest offerings - the ASUS G53SX, the world's first "glasses-free" 3D gaming laptop. Asus is calling this a Naked Eye 3D system, which will feature some unique technology with the ability to instantly convert existing 2D visuals into glasses-free 3D content.

This 3D laptop even has a "mixed mode" where you can view in one window, a 2D display and a 3D display - all at the same time. And Asus, in a recent press release, is claiming all this can be accomplished without "compromising brightness, contrast or color fidelity, exceeding the output of older 3D technology that relies on glasses."

This glasses-free technology and devices may just be the push 3D needs at the moment, especially with gamers where the jury is still out. It could also conceivably open up a much larger consumer base or marketplace for this new technology and finally bring 3D into the mainstream.

"Getting rid of those awkward glasses will be the key to the success or failure of 3D technology," states Titus Hoskins, a former teacher who now runs: 3D-gaminglaptops.com, a highly ranked site on 3D gaming laptops. "Besides the extra expense, many people find wearing the 3D glasses uncomfortable and a real pain to use."

The 15-inch Full HD G53SX also sports some other ground-breaking features and specs, which will turn more than a few heads in the gaming world. The laptop is powered by a 2nd generation (Sandy Bridge) Intel® Quad Core i7 CPU and discrete DirectX® 11 compatible Nvidia GeForce® GTX 560M graphics, which has a massive 2GB of GDDR5 video memory. It also has a solid state hybrid drive at 10,000 rpm, which can cut down boot times by up to 52%. As you probably know, most high-end gaming laptops currently run at 7200 rpm speeds.

In addition, this ROG gaming laptop comes with a whole suite of 3D content creation and editing software, which will let owners use advanced authoring tools and they will also have 3DTV Play connectivity. Sound performance will be increased with both THX (next generation surround sound) and EAX 5.0 3D, giving gamers up to 128 additional sound effects at once when compared to conventional gaming notebooks.

The laptop's design also includes two fans which will draw cool air in from the front and then push the warm air out through large twin exhausts or vents at the rear of the device. As gamers know, keeping any high-performance machine cool and quiet, are two of the biggest obstacles to enjoyable gaming. Asus made devices have had great success in this area and hopefully the G53SX won't be an exception.

However, it is the Naked Eye or glasses-free 3D feature which makes the ASUS G53SX a true groundbreaker. This new technology opens up a whole new spectrum for 3D gaming laptops without the glasses. It could also pave the way for a whole new industry for Naked Eye 3D gaming laptops and other devices. Regardless, the ASUS G53SX will definitely have many gamers smiling, look ma - no glasses.
