LCD TV Buying Guide - New Toshiba 2012 LCD Ratings and Evaluation

LCD TV Buying Guide Announces New Toshiba 2012 LCD Ratings and Evaluation - Consumer Electronics Advisory Group's LCDTVBuyingGuide publishes new reviews and ratings of Value Oriented Toshiba TVs

LCD TV Buying Guide Editors Jack Burden and Robert Wiley thoroughly review the features and many of the qualities in new 2012 Toshiba LED TV Reviews of models that entered the HDTV market this year. The editors have published features reviews for new series such as the L5200U and L6200U series for 2012. “These TVs will be extremely popular this year due to their relatively good black levels and price to value.” stated editor Robert Wiley. “The L5200U series probably offers some of the best value in the market if you just want a good LED backlit picture.”

LCD TV Buying Guide - New Toshiba 2012 LCD Ratings and Evaluation

Editors note many improvements in the second to top of the line Toshiba 47L6200U for which the athors note: “Priced at $1400 or so there is lots of competition in the 46 and 47 inch size LCD TVs. This Toshiba is feature loaded and compares with the Sony KDL-46HX750, the LG 47LM6700, and the Samsung UN46ES7100 series. As such I would give it a satisfactory value rating as it comes in at a comparable price to those TVs. Of course, the passive 3D glasses do make the Toshiba a bit more competitive than the Samsung or Sony.”

Editors also reviewed models from the next series down with this comment about the super-value oriented Toshiba 50L5200U, “The 50 inch LED/LCD offering size has never been done before this year with this model. It's obviously there to offer competition to plasma TV 50” size offerings. It is a good choice even at $999 for brightly lit rooms especially ones that have light from windows if you plan on doing a lot of daytime television viewing. There are hardly any other 50 inch LCD/LED TVs to compare to as other manufacturers make 47” and 55 inch TVs not daring to compete with the 50” plasma TVs on the market. A good comp in plasma would be the Panasonic TC-P50UT50 which sells for $899 and has a better, though dimmer picture as well as 3D, and Smart TV function. Still, I give this TV over a 9 in value due to the sheer lack of competition in LED TVs in this size and because the picture gives you the positive attributes of LED if that's what you need.” And similar comments about the Toshiba 46L5200U , “At $799 this is a great value model in the 46/47” sizes range.

New Panasonic 2012 LED-LCD TV lineup with Review

LCD TV Buying Guide Announces New Panasonic 2012 LED-LCD TV lineup with Review, Specifications, and Commentary on Panasonic's Surprise entry into Passive 3D TV - Consumer Electronics Advisory Group's LCDTVBuyingGuide.com publishes all of the 2012 Plasma Television Models

LCD TV Buying Guide Editors Jack Burden and Robert Wiley thoroughly review the features and many of the qualities the new Panasonic LED TV Models 2012 for models that will be entering the HDTV market this year from March – June. The editors have published features reviews for new series such as the WT50, DT50, and the new Passive 3D models in the ET5 series for 2012. “Panasonic has developed some great TVs this year in both plasma and now more large LED TV sizes for 2012.

Panasonic WT50 and DT50 Panasonic LED TV design

They are the only manufacturer to hedge with both active and passive 3D in the LED TV arena.”stated editor Robert Wiley. “The other surprise was how many different models and series of LED Televisions the company is producing for 2012. This was a shock for us as we have always thought of Panasonic has the leader in plasma TVs.”

CEAG Editor Jack Burden reviewed the second from top of the line LED TV model in the Panasonic TC-L55DT50 Review with the following comments, “Prior to 2012 Panasonic kept larger sizes and top end features in their plasma line but they have introduced some high-tier larger LED TVs this year. The TC-L55DT50 is the second form the highest tier and contains most of the features of the WT50 though it lacks some of the social netowkring features and it has a different look.”

The company also reviewed the new Passive 3D TVs from Panasonic with the Panasonic TC-L47ET5 Review which states, “The TC-L47ET5 has the new Panasonic Easy 3D Technology which is a big surprise and departure from their previous all-active shutter 3D lineup. This will keep the costs and price of this model and series very competitive with LG active 3D models. Though the resolution is only half of that with the full HD 3D that Panasonic and other manufacturers produce, it nonetheless has a good enveloping 3D picture though not quite as deep and colorful as the active 3D plasma TVs from Panasonic. But we did not note any negative crosstalk or flickering issues and the very light glasses are super comfy.”

New Sharp 2012 LED-LCD TV Reviews and Commentary

The biggest surprise from Sharp though is their commitment to the new 4K TV technology which they plan to ship later this year.” LCD TV Buying Guide lists all Sharp LED TV 2012 models on its Sharp Buying Guide page for easy review. According to the company there are a total of 11 new 2012 models of LED TVs and one LCD TV model.

LCD TV Shipment of 40” and Larger Sizes to Improve in 2012

LCD TV Shipment Growth to Improve in 2012, Driven by 40” and Larger Sizes - Total TV Market to Rise 2% in 2012 After No Growth in 2011 Due to Soft Consumer Demand and Early Inventory Pressure, NPD DisplaySearch Reports

Consumer demand for TVs has been softer than expected in 2011, but is showing signs of improvement late in the year. However, inventory pressure plagued the industry through much of early 2011 and led to a sharp reduction in shipments to retailers. The result is that global TV unit shipments are expected to rise only 0.1% in 2011. According to the latest forecast released in the NPD DisplaySearch Advanced Quarterly Global TV Shipment and Forecast Report, growth is expected to improve in 2012, rising 2% to 254 million units.

LCD TV Shipment of 40” and Larger Sizes to Improve in 2012

“Global economic conditions have improved in 2011, but more slowly than expected, and consumers in mature TV markets like Europe face continuing uncertainty, which is leading to very cautious spending patterns,” noted Paul Gagnon, Director of North America TV Research for NPD DisplaySearch. Gagnon added, “Because price reductions are not as vigorous as a few years ago, partially due to a mature manufacturing base but also because of transitions to advanced features like LED backlights and 3D, consumers are becoming more willing to wait for peak sale periods to purchase.”

Flat panel TV continues to grow, but at a more gradual pace of 2-4% per year as the rapid transition from CRT to LCD and plasma nears an end. LCD TV continues to be the dominant technology on a unit and revenue basis, and in fact seems likely capture even more market share due to a weaker outlook for plasma TV going forward. As LCD narrows the pricing gap with plasma at many sizes, the demand for plasma has fallen; NPD DisplaySearch expects this to continue and has reduced its forecast for plasma TV.

Panasonic Giant Camera - Larger than Life Installations

Giant Camera Moves to London Victoria Train Station, the Last in Panasonic’s Series of Larger than Life Installations: A giant camera has been spending time in London train stations as part of Panasonic's 8 x Life campaign to promote their new digital camera, the Lumix DMC-ZX1. Tomorrow it will move to London Victoria. This larger than life installation follows in the footsteps of a giant pigeon, which provided a spectacle in Covent Garden, and five other giant sculptures around the UK.

A giant camera appeared in London Waterloo station last week, providing passers-by with a fun visual attraction whilst going about their day. And, rumour has it; it’s making its way to London Victoria station tonight.

Displaying video footage of how the giant sized objects were built, as well as footage of all the objects in location on the plasma TV, the creation is so life-like you feel like you’re actually watching a home movie back on your digital camera!

A team of six artists spent five weeks creating the 3.6 metre high and 2 metre wide fibre glass digital camera installation, which began its journey in London Waterloo station on Thursday last week (19th November). The larger than life camera, which weighs 160kg, will now be entertaining commuters at London Victoria station from 26th-28th November before moving again to London Liverpool Street Station (3rd-5th December).

Mark Robinson, Head of Lumix Marketing at Panasonic, says: "We’ve received some fun and imaginative photos on our facebook page showcasing perspective resulting from our larger than life sculptures. We’re sure our giant sized camera will prove a popular past time for commuters and help to raise the profile of our 8x life campaign."

Users are invited to join in with Panasonic’s 8 x Life campaign by submitting their own photograph which showcases the fun that can be had with perspective. Entrants should visit the Panasonic Facebook Fan Page (http://www.facebook.com/8xlife) for the chance to win a trip to the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games!
